New at the cinema this weekend

You are a wizard Harry. It’s the WB reissue weekend of film (and of course book) number three in the original Harry Potter saga. And it’s been a spell, 18 (sorry if that makes you feel old) years in fact since its original box office release date. This edition takes the darkness of the story up a notch and brings our titular teenager face to face with a group of soul-sucking wizarding prison human resources officers called Dementors who are looking for Potter’s estranged uncle. , Sirius Black. This is your invitation to relive the magic on the big screen, Expecto Popcornum.

The wonder of youth

The Bawabat Al Sharq Mall hits its peak for the end of summer vacation – and this weekend there’s plenty going on to captivate and inspire inquisitive young minds. In addition to great prices on all back-to-school essentials, the World of Wonder activation offers fun, educational jungle-themed activities and opportunities to win vouchers.

The night is dark and full of terrors

A horror movie, but make it interactive. Hardly anyone ever said, but somehow it still exists – right here in Abu Dhabi. Teams of two to 10 players can try their hand at a pair of spooky story-driven escape experiences – complete with live actors. House of Evil and The Morgue – both take around 60 minutes and cost around Dhs180 (based on four players) per person.

OK Zuma

We went to Zuma for a little hype check earlier this year. It exceeded all expectations (and you can read the full review: here). But that’s not why we put them here. No, it’s for something much more exciting — the return of their legendary Saturday brunch. Embark on a flavor safari of the chef-curated tasting menu, your choice of main course, and a grand finale courtesy of the Zuma Dessert Platter.

summer justice

Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi was your top pick for “favorite attraction” in the What’s new Abu Dhabi Awards 2021. And we felt it. All of our favorite DCU superheroes (and villains), Tom, Jerry, Buggs, Daffy, Tweetie, The Flintstones, and backed by spectacularly wild rides – plus all those expertly choreographed shows. And if all that wasn’t enough, there’s the added incentive that kids go free to Yas theme parks all summer long (now extended through September).

For the Louvre of Creativity

louvre abu dhabi

Abu Dhabi is home to a treasure trove of galleries, museums and culturally significant wonders. We recommend taking a look at our guide to some of the local highlights. But if we had to choose one, it would be the Louvre Abu Dhabi. As well as housing one of the most beautifully curated and objects-of-wow, they organize movie nights, there is a children’s museum, creation and game sessions (50 Dhs, 11:30 am, 2:30 pm and 4:40 pm on Saturday and Sunday), painting and grape evenings, special exhibitions and even guided drawing tours.
