The weekend is finally here, and although there is no sun in forecast for this weekend, we are happy to say that there is no chance of snow!

Get your tickets for Love Hurts Valentine’s Den
This February, your favorite haunted house will transform into a spooky, abandoned lover’s twist, bringing a whole new reason to celebrate the holidays.
From February 10-13, Monsters Haunted House is transforming the former Landmark Cinema in University Heights into Love Hurts, a Valentine’s Day haunt.
So grab your boo, hold it tight, and brave your way through the haunted house. While you’re there, be sure to get your picture taken at the haunted Valentine’s Day photo shoot!

Try KFC’s new plant-based menu
KFC announced the launch of its expanded plant-based menu, giving Canadians looking to reduce their meat intake and play a part in more mindful eating habits something to do.
On January 3, the popular chain launched its plant-based sandwich, spicy plant-based sandwich, plant-based popcorn and canned meal at KFC restaurants across the country.
Made 100% in Canada, the new menu items are animal-free, made with soy and wheat and coated with KFC’s famous herbs and spices.
Apply to be an Extra in a Disney Channel Original Movie
Victoria will become the setting for a new film production later this month and they are looking to hire extras!
‘Under Wraps 2’, the sequel to the 2021 Disney Channel Original Movie, is looking to hire locals between the ages of 8 and 70.
The production is looking for regular extras as well as specialist acts such as jugglers, stilt walkers, musicians, professional hula hoopers, street performers and others with special skills that can be used on camera.

Get a free coffee or tea at McDonalds if you’re a healthcare professional
McDonalds Canada is looking to show its appreciation for healthcare workers across the country this month, with a special offer just for them.
Starting January 7 and continuing throughout the rest of the month, healthcare workers in Canada can enjoy free coffee or tea from their local McDonald’s.
This offer is valid for a medium-sized coffee or tea and can be used both at the counter and at the drive-thru.
Skating in Uptown
The Uptown Rink is ready to invite enthusiastic skaters!
Guests can skate for $5 per person and $2 skate rental and can reserve their 40-minute spot in line for groups up to 6 people.
Waivers and masks are required to participate, so guests are asked to arrive five minutes prior to check-in to log in and lace up!
The festive pleasure is also for a good cause! 50% of proceeds from The Rink will be donated to 1UP Victoria Single Parent Resource Centre, in support of their Christmas Hamper program.

Try Victoria’s First Chicken Popeyes
Now you can enjoy the taste of New Orleans with the official opening of Vancouver Island’s first-ever Popeyes Louisiana Chicken – and it’s right here in Victoria.
The new location is located in Tuscany Village in Saanich and will bring a whole new world of flavor to the town.
Popeyes Canada hopes to open up to five more franchises on Vancouver Island, with hopes that their second branch in Nanaimo will be complete by Christmas.
