Blantyre Police have arrested a 25-year-old woman for raping her employer’s 13-year-old child.

The suspect has been identified as Chrissy Sanudi

Sub-Inspector Peter Mchiza, public relations manager at Blantyre Police Station, said the woman had been charged with an offense of sexual activity with a minor in her custody, contrary to section 160 subsection b of the Criminal Code.

He said the suspect worked as a housekeeper in the town of Blantyre. She was employed in January 2021 and one of her tasks was to take care of the children in the house.

After a few months, her employer began to be suspicious of the way she interacted with one of the boys in the house who was only 13 years old. The employer discovered that the suspect could bathe and wear clothes in the presence of the child.

She then began to monitor the movements of her Child and on December 21, 2021, around 8:00 p.m., she noticed that her son was in the maid’s room.

As a parent, she went to see what her son was doing in the maid’s room and suddenly found out that the son was being sexually assaulted by the maid.

She reported the case to the Kabula Police Unit and the suspect was arrested. The suspect admitted that she was caught having sex with the boy.

Police have since opened a case of sexual activity with a minor in their custody, which is contrary to article 160 subsection b of the Penal Code and if found guilty the offense will be punishable by maximum penalty of 14 years imprisonment with hard labor. .
